  • Abdomen: Black Super Fine Dry Fly Dubbing
  • Thorax: Black Super Fine Dry Fly Dubbing
  • Hook: Mustad 94840 or equiv dry fly #16
  • Wing: Slate Gray CDC
  • Tying Instructions
    • Attach thread behind eye and wind back to the bend.


    • Dub on abdomen.


    • Wind thread forward to leave a space in front of the abdomen.


    • To form legs, strip one side of CDC feather, roll them into a single strand, and tie them in at this point. Figure 8 to secure and spread CDC fibers, and bring thread to the front of the fibers.


    • Tie in the wing in front of the legs, using the tip of a CDC feather, and secure with a couple of wraps.


    • Dub on the thorax directly over the front of the wing. The thorax should be smaller than the abdomen.


    • Tie off and whip finish, and add head cement if you use it.
