Body: Brown chenille over wrapped with brown hackle
Tail: Brown Marabou

| Tying Instructions |
| Start the thread near the eye of the hook. Wrap shank with
thread for a good foundation to prevent chenille from slipping around on
the shank, and good for laying on a layer of lead wire. " Optional, wrap
on lead wire from bend of hook to 1/8 inch from the eye of the hook.
Sucure with thread, and super glue if desired." Tie on a good plume of
marabou equal to the length of the shank. "Optional, working with
marabou I have found that it is easier if you get it wet in a cup of
water." Tie on chenille on top of the hook at the bend. Make one wrap
with the chenille and let hang to hold tension. Tie on one brown hackle
just in front of the chenille. Light side down. Wrap thread forward to
1/8" behind the eye of the hook. Now finish wrapping chenille in tight
wraps to just behind the eye of the hook and tie off. Now wrap the
hackle forward in open spirals. Tip I have found that the wide spirals
work better then close ones. tie off wet hackle and whip finish or half
hitch finish and put on head cement. |
| Fishing Tips |
| I have found the wooly best fished with the 1/4 swing on
rivers and the big fish in lakes on ponds to take a slow strip. On
rivers the wooly works for me in the places where the water comes
together from a small isle in the streams with the slow strip. |
