MD Green Caddis Pupa
Tied by Dave Murphy
  • Hook: 20 scud (a huge size compared to some of you swappers)
  • Thorax/head: Black peacock or blue-black pearlized caddis dubbing
  • Thread: Bright green
  • Body: Clear midge lace
  • Tying Instructions
I saw posts of tyers receiving their flys and I begin to pace. So for 24 hours I tapped my fingers impatiently waiting for the postman. He only rang once but the micro nymphs are here. Thanks to Ross Purnell for hosting this swap. All the flys are a sight for sore eyes (which is what you get after staring a while from 2" away) and very well done. As I've swapped with Byard and Hans, tied with Richard and seen a number of Henk's great flys on the web, I was real anxious to see the rest of the tyers flys.

This is as close as I can get to the actual size and color of the caddis worms we have here in streams like Hunting Creek. Fished with a bit of microshot and the takes are off the bottom.
