Griffin's Gnat
Tied by Ray Gattus
  • Thread: Black 6/0
  • Rib: Fine gold wire (optional)
  • Hackle: Grizzly palmered
  • Hook: Mustad 94840 size 14-20
  • Body: Peacock herl
  • Tying Instructions
This fly was developed by George Griffith, who is credited with helping to found Trout Unlimited. The Griffith's Gnat has become an established standard throughout the country. It's easier to see on the water than many micro patterns, and is readily taken by trout in a variety of situations...Good fishing to all.
