  • Thorax: Black or dark brown deer hair spun
  • Abdomen: Dark brown poly yarn
  • Hackle: Furnace rooster palmered and clipped
  • Tail: Moose mane
  • Tying Instructions
    • Bend hook at the planned junction between the abdomen and thorax. Wrap lead wire on the rear half of th ehook shank; lacquer it.


    • Tie in a glob of moose mane.


    • Wrap the poly yarn to form a thick body.


    • Tie in a hackle feather


    • Spin a deer hair thorax.


    • Palmer the hackle through the deer hair
