This really is a simple fast stonefly that works well.
Begin by tying in the tail. Don't cut the pheasant just yet. I
recommend making a peacock herl brush of three to four strands. Tie in
at the base of the tail and wrap forward. Pull pheasant forward to form
back. Tie in some more peacock herl and grizzly hackle. Wrap the herl
forward and then palmer the grizzly over the herl. Tie off and whip
finish. Trim the grizzly hackle to be about 1/16-3/32 of inch long.
