Orange Hare's Ear Nymph
Tied by Bob Gartner
  • Abdomen: Dubbing mix of orange hare's ear with antron
  • Hook: Mustad 9671
  • Thread: Orange
  • Tail: Orange dyed hackle fibers
  • Thorax: Same as abdomen
  • Rib: Thin gold tinsel
  • Wingcase: Turkey quill or peacock herls
  • Tying Instructions
The fly is tied in the traditional Hare's Ear Nymph style. The dubbing is a home-made blend from an orange dyed Hare's Mask and cut-up pure antron mixed in a blender. I use 6-7 peacock herls for the nymph case.
