| Tying Instructions |
......a color variation of Fran Betters' "Try-It" or a Elk Hair
Caddis without palmered hackle.....
Beginning at the rear of the hook, dub in some superfine dryfly
dubbing , color: "Cinnamon Caddis" from the Blue Ribbon Fly Shop in West
Yellowstone, Montana... produced by Wapsi of Arkansas.
Dub foward to the thorax area. Cut , clean and stack a medium sized
clump of light or medium colored elk or deer hair, and tie in with the
"pinch" method. Allow to flair just slightly. Trim butts close in front,
leaving enough to form a head, a couple of wraps in the front of the hair
butts, followed by a three turn whip finish. A touch of thinned laquer
and you're done.....
This fly is usefull on the western streams , where some of the Caddis
have a peachy-pink colored body..... It came in real handy on the
Missouri in Montana more than once... |
