Stillborn Midge
Tied by Robb Nicewonger
  • Body: Black rabbit/Antron
  • Rib: Copper wire
  • Tail: Grey nylon yarn
  • Wing: Grey nylon yarn
  • Overbody: Grey nylon yarn
  • Hook: TMC 2457 #18
  • Tying Instructions
    • Tie in copper wire followed by a thin strand of nylon yarn (I use one strand from a 3-ply yarn for a size 18) at the rear of the hook. Leave approximately one body length for the rear shuck.
    • Dub body.
    • Pull yarn over the top of the body ('scud' style), tie off at the front. Next rib the body with the copper wire and again tie off at the front.
    • Form a neat head--cut the nylon yarn again leaving about one body length for the 'wings'.
