Pheasant Tail Nymph
Tied by Byard Miller
  • Thread: Brown 8/0 Uni-thread
  • Rib: Fine copper wire
  • Hook: Mustad 94840 #26
  • Thorax: Peacock herl
  • Tail: Pheasant tail fibers
  • Abdomen: Pheasant tail fibers
  • Wingcase: Pheasant tail fibers
  • Tying Instructions
After attaching your tying thread and wrapping to the hook bend, tie in a piece of fine copper wire. Using two pheasant tail fibers tie them in at the bend so that the tips extend backwards forming the tail. Wrap forward to the thorax position, first the thread, followed by the pheasant and finally the copper wire. Trim off the excess copper but leave the pheasant. Tie in and wrap a few turns of peacock herl and then pull the pheasant tail up over the top of the peacock. Tie off, trim and whip finish.

    Happy fishin'...enjoy...byard
