  • Fishing Tips
This is one of my favorite flies to tie. It looks buggy...;-) Been known to scare people with this fly, especially unsuspecting secretaries. I made some adjustments to the pattern for this swap. I had a bunch of emu feathers feathers on hand. After studying them they seem to provide a real webby look like CDC feathers. The pattern calls for a black or brown saddle hackle wrapped 4 turns, trimmed on top and then pull the Bug Skin over the top for the wing case. Le me know what everyone thinks of the emu for the legs. I prefer boars hair for the antennae but haven't made it out to one of my local farmers to get any more. If you need specific directions for weaving the Larva Lace let me know and I will try to e-mail the details.
