Dave E's Damsel
Originator: Dave Engerbretson
Tied by Don Shearer
  • Head: Bead of accompanying size
  • Thread: Black, anything dark
  • Tail: Damsel green marabou
  • Abdomen: Damsel green marabou
  • Thorax: Ostrich herl
  • Hook: Size #12 Scud hook
  • Tying Instructions
With bead on hook and hook in vise wrap thread back down the shank to were it is above just past the point of the hook. Tie in marabou which should be the length of the hook from this point to the tips. I usually leave it long and wrap it to the bead and tie off. From the position above just past the point of the hook tie and wrap forward 3-4 ostrich herl to the bead. A quick whip finish and a small drop of head cement and your ready to fish. This fly is almost too easy to tie.
