Olive Bug
Tied by Perry Perkins
  • Thread: Olive 6/0
  • Hackle: Single grizzly feather
  • Hook: Standard Dry Fly, size 16
  • Body: Superfine olive dubbing
  • Tying Instructions
    • Run thread back from eye of hook until half past hook point.
    • Wax thread, add small amt. of Dubbing, wind forward 3/4 of hook length, building a slightly larger 'thorax'.
    • Tie in hackle feather tip first, turn closely to form a thick hackle.
    • Secure with half-hitches (or whip finish), apply thin head cement.

Pretty basic, but then that was the point, eh? :->
