  • Over rib: Clear sewing thread or mono
  • Hook: Curved nymph or scud
  • Body: Dubbing with a tiny pink/red spot near the head of the nymph
  • Under rib: Gold thread or wire
  • Weight: Lead sheeting or wire
  • Thread: Rusty dun, black
  • Back: Thin sheet of vinyl plastic (mine is a piece from a surgical drape) or glove
  • Tying Instructions
    • With hook in vise, tie on lead sheet, then tie in the back, gold rib and mono.
    • Dub with gray, green or gold dubbing and twist to about the 2/3 point on the hook and wrap over the shank.
    • Dub on a bit of orange, pink, or red for the red spot and wind on hook.
    • Dub a bit of darker dubbing for the head.
    • Wind gold rib in several wide turns and tie down at the head.
    • Pull back over the top of the nymph and tie down.
    • Wind smaller turns of mono over the top of the shell back and tie down.
