Tail: Orange or red dyed goose quill
Abdomen: Polpropylene floating yarn, chenille or wool your color choice tan, brown, yellow, green
Wing: Yellow kip tail

| Tying Instructions |
| Cover the shank of the hook with thread from behind the eye to the bend. Then back to a point approximately 1/3 the shank legnth from the eye. Tie in the tail equal to the hook gap. Tie in the chosen body materal. On a size 8 hook, wind the body toward the bend thenback to the tie in piont. On size 10 or smaller, tie the body materal in the bend and wrap forward to a little behind the eye. Tie in the kiptail wing at a 45 degree angle to the hook. tie in the hackle, shiny side of feather up. Then wind the hackle collar towards the eye. Tie off, whip finish and cement. |
| Fishing Tips |
| Fish this dressed with the floatant of your choice. This fly floats high and is easily seen in most light conditions with the yellow kiptail wing. It has been successful for landlocked salmon, Bass. The Originator has caught Brown, brook rainbow and cutthroat trout. He has also caught a couple of West Branch Bats fishing at dusk. |
