Thread: 8/0 gray or tan (tan preferred)
Hackle: Brown and grizzly, mixed
Body: Hare's ear dubbing, with guard hairs
Hook: Mustad 94840 or equivalent
Wing: None (use an upright wing of rabbit hair for a fluttering caddis)
Tail: Optional (rabbit guard hair used)

| A simple, but effective pattern. You can fish it on the drift or stripped back under the current. As with all caddis patterns, the latter seems to inspire some really aggressive strikes. |
