    Fishing Tips
This particular pattern evolved from my friend Fred Donatelli's adaptation of the Elk Hair Caddis. Fred substituted snowshoe hair for the elk/deer hair wing. What I needed was something for slow moving water. I took out the hackle and added a fur thorax. This fly is similar to the Antron Caddis featured in the Matthews/Juracek book, "Fly Patterns of Yellowstone".

Fish up and across, across, or across and down, the snowshoe floats forever. No floatant necessary. Great for twitching in slow water. After a fish, two false casts and you're back in business.

Easy to tie, easy to fish and very effective! Try it in different color combinations, particularly with an olive body.
