Hook: Any dry fly hook to fit the hatch size (Tiemco 102Y #11)
Hackle: Grizzly hackle
Wing: Light yearling elk hair
Thread: Olive or tan 8/0
Tail: Orange antron yarn (just a tuft of it)
Body: Peacock herl twisted in a dubbing loop

| Tying Instructions |
- Begin by putting your hook in your vise...unless you are Lee Wulff and tie alot without the use of a vise!
- Attach thread to hook and tie in antron yarn. Clip short to make "Butt".
- Tie in grizzley hackle - enough forward of butt so that you can get one full turn of herl behind it.
- Tie in herls - I use 5 or 6 on this size - by their tips. Form herl rope with dubbing loop and wind one full turn behind hackle and then bring forward toward hook eye and tie off.
- Palmer grizzley hackle over body - about 4 turns - and tie off.
- Cut and stack a bunch of elk hair for wing. Clean out all under fur before stacking.
- Lay elk hair over body to form wing. Make tips about even with the butt/tail.
- Make two or three loose turns over elk hair and then tighten and wrap a couple more times to secure wing.
- Pull butts of elk hair forward and either use whip finish or half hitches to tie off directly on hook
- Go fishing!!
