Bitch Creek
Tied by Bob Stark
  • Hook: 79580 # 10
  • Thread: Black 6/0
  • Abdomen: Black and Orange Chenille
  • Thorax: Black Chenille
  • Hackle: Brown, palmered thru thorax
  • Rib: Fine gold wire
  • Underbody: Lead wire
  • Head: Thread
  • Tail: White Rubber legs
  • Antennae: White Rubber legs
  • Tying Instructions
Wrap the lead wire around the hook about 12-14 times starting at the point. Cover with thread and add some Zap-a-gap to stabilize during the weave. Tie in the Rubber legs for the tail(This should go to the bend). Then tie in the Black chenille(about 4 inches for both) on the far side of the hook and the Orange on the near side. Wrap the thread forward to the eye, half-hitch and cut. Now turn the vise so that the eye of the hook is facing away from you. Take the black chenille in the left hand and orange in the right. Now take the black over the hook and in front of the orange. Take the orange over the black and under the hook. Bring the black over the hook and in front of the orange, and take the orange over the black and under the hook. Repeat the process, maintaining tension at all times, to the 2/3 point of the hook. Hold the two chenilles in one hand and reattach the thread, and tie off the chenille and clip the excess. Tie in black chenille for the thorax, along with the hackle and wire. Then tie in the antennae and leave the thread at the tie off point(just behind the eye, with just enough room not to crowd the eye). Wind on the chenille to thread, tie off and clip excess. Palmer the hackle, tie off and clip. wind the wire thru the hackle( I forgot to do this for the flies that I sent in for the swap) tie off and clip the excess. Form the head and finish. Clip the tail and antennae to length and split.
