Peacock Quill Bodied Midge
Tied by Richard Ross
  • Thread: Fine brown
  • Collar: Peacock herl
  • Abdomen: Stripped peacock herl
  • Tying Instructions
Soak peacock quill for five minutes, dry for several minutes. Strip 1/4" of quill tip with your thumbnail. Start fine brown thread on the hook just behind the eye. Tie the bare quill down and wrap loosely back to the bend. Wrap thread back forward to the eye leaving a solid thread base. Wrap the bare quill forward to just behind the eye. Take two wraps with the herled part of the quill, and then whip finish.
