| Tying Notes: Amass a few strands of clear antron and attach to hook with thread. Wrap to the bend. Twist Antron fibers into a rope and wrap toward eye to complete tag. Attach a few marabou fibers for tail. Pinch off the ends to desired length with fingers; do not cut with scissors. Apply sparse amount of dubbing to thread, wrap tp 3/4 shank length. Attach 1" spoke of clear packing foam by x-ing with thread. Leave the ends until you're finished. Wrap more dubbing for thorax by criss-crossing the halo. Tie in the orange elk hair, tips facing forward. Clip excess and whip finish in front of spike. Now clip the sides of the foam halo to length and you're ready to go. I have found that using a 1" long foam spoke makes it easier to complete the thorax and tie in the spike of hair. This fly has proven effective on many trout waters, with particular success on the Metolius here in Oregon. Good luck and good fishing!
