  • Tail: 4 to 6 Peacock herl tips
  • Thorax: 6 wraps of lead wire
  • Thread: Black
  • Hackle: Black hen or black saddle
  • Head: Black thread
  • Abdomen: Dubbed peacock blend
  • Rib: Optional, silver
  • Hook: Size 12 dry
  • Tying Instructions
    Place hook in vise. Make 6 wraps with lead wire to form thorax, tie in peacock herl tips for the tail. Tie in 6 to 8 peacock herl for the wing case. Bring thread to back of hook, lightly dub the thread with dubbing material. Wrap forward, making sure each wrap is front of the other, stroke the dubbing back as you wrap. Dub the thorax area a little heavier. Bring the peacock herl forward to form the wingcase. Wrap down and trim excess. Bring your thread forward to where the back part of the head will be. Tie in your hackle by the butt end, and bring the thread back to the thorax. Make 2 to 4 wraps with the hackle. Make a two or 3 wraps to secure the hackle. Trim the excess. Now wrap the thread forward through the hackle. Sroke the hackle back and build the head. Whip finish and use some head cement.
    Fishing Tips

    Fish like any other nymph or soft hackle. Up across and down.
