  • Body: Any olive sparkle blend dubbing
  • Wing: Bleached coastal deer hair
  • Hook: Dai-Riki 1XL dry fly (#300), size 16
  • Underwing: Olive marabou
  • Head: Peacock herl
  • Shuck: Plastic canvas yarn
  • Thread: Uni 8/0 olive
  • Tying Instructions
    • Tie in thread behind eye, advance rearward to the bend.
    • Tie in shuck material at the bend, then bind material along shank a little over half way to the hook eye. Trim excess.
    • Bring thread back to bend and dub the body, covering all shuck material along the shank.
    • Tie in marabou underwing (sparse) and clip short, should extend about half way over dubbed body.
    • Trim and stack a small bundle of deer hair. Tie in over marabou underwing and trim butts.
    • Build a smooth area between the wing and the hook eye with thread wraps. Tie in a single peacock herl and wrap head. Tie off and whip finish.
