Thread: Black 6/0
Abdomen: Black dubbing
Wing: Bleached elk hair
Head: Butts from wing
Hook: Mustad 94840 size 14
Rib: Optional gold wire

| Tying Instructions |
- Tie in body material and then hackle (I use Benecchi dubbing thread) at hook bend.
- Thread to be at hook eye after tying these in.
- Wrap body with first wrap behind the hackle.
- Palmer hackle (4 wraps) over the back 3/4 of the hook.
- Stack and tie in the wing. Use 5-6 thread wraps over the wing and 4-5 wraps under the wing to keep the eye clear.
- Use enough elk hair to make a wing that covers the top and sides of the hook; with the majority of the wing on top.
- Trim wing to form head.
- To tie off, use 2 thread wraps on a half hitch tool, repeat this.
- Apply head cement to thread (over and under the wing).
- A rib is optional and is only required if using loose dubbing.
